The Wong Way
Back in July 2006, I bought my first digital SLR camera. The very next day, I brought it with me to Siren Festival in Coney Island. Although the shots from that concert didn't turn out too hot - too far away, too much of a novice with the camera - I wasn't deterred from future attempts at concert shooting. Ultimately, I decided to start a musicblog, titled The Wong Way, featuring photos I took from the concerts I went to. It ran regularly from July 2006 to December 2006 and while I'd like to start it back up some day, I prefer to just enjoy concerts from the sidelines. But who knows what the future will bring, right?
Vie Perdu @ NEMO Music Festival, Boston Center for the Arts, Boston 29.09.2006
Vie Perdu had some of the worst luck I’ve ever seen a band have during a show. They were scheduled to perform an afternoon set outside of the Boston Center for the Arts after it had been raining all morning. In the time it took them to set up and do their soundcheck, the storm clouds slowly built, turning the sky from blue to gray. Fearing the heavens were about to open up, they took the stage quickly.
They didn’t even make it through one song – the rain was just coming down too hard and fast to continue.
So they were out a chance to perform for festival goers and passing people, not to mention $25k worth of equipment being exposed to some nasty rain.
So, here they are, the photos from their aborted set.
