Dinner @ Fette Sau

A few weeks back, Susan and I went to Fette Sau, the BBQ joint from the folks at Spuyten Duyvil, to celebrate the three-year anniversary of Sixpoint Craft Ales.

Some of the coolest tap handles I’ve ever seen.

The “fireplace” – a nod to the Yule Log?

Get your education in cuts of meat as you enjoy your meal.

Between the walls and the tap handles, there’s a clear butcher motif developing here.

Our meal, clockwise from the top left corner: pork butt, pastrami brined in beer, half-sour pickles, Berkshire pork belly, broccoli salad, rolls.

The night’s selection of meats. If we could have eaten more, we would have – the meal was so good.

  1. ETA until someone reaches too high on a tap and slices their hand? Very cool looking though. we should go sometime.

  2. I wondered the same thing myself but the place has been open for almost a year now and no such incidents so far. It truly is an awesome place.

  3. I imagine they dulled the blades. Extremely cool though. Next time I am in NYC this is a must!

  4. That would be my guess as well. We’ll definitely be going here and Spuyten Duyvil next time you’re down here.

  5. (Why is my equation = 43, not 42, the answer to EVERYTHING?)
Mmmmm, that looks so darn good. Will put this on my list.

  6. If they have it when you visit, go for the pork cheeks. The baked beans with burnt ends are pretty good too.
