  2. It’s not really Peking Duck (skin should be coming off the body) and the buns aren’t nearly as good as the pancakes/crepes normally associated with the dish. That said, it’s $1 and at that price, it’s pretty good.

  3. Hmm, the 2x I’ve gotten it now, the skin was completely separate – the fat between skin & meat was dissolved (which I think is one of the marks of Peking duck), so perhaps you got a bad batch? As for the crepes, I think that’s a regional difference; I know that sounds funny because Peking duck is from a specific region/city, but I grew up eating it with mantou (like the above bun) and didn’t have it with crepes until I was older. I think that is because I had it at mostly Cantonese restaurants, but I’m not entirely sure if that’s why.

  4. Ah! http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/564739 I was semi-right, though the same post mentions that Corner 28 is closer to roast duck than Peking duck. As you say, though, for $1, can’t really complain!
