Some context here – the New Times Square was the Disneyfication of the area after the gritty seventies and eighties. The New New Times Square includes a brand new TKTS kiosk and a car-free Broadway. Unfortunately, the plans to go car-free came before they had time to put in real street furniture so, in the meantime, we got stuck with cheap lawn chairs. Still, it’s better than the eternal gridlock of cars intersecting at Seventh Avenue and Broadway while way too many people were crammed on narrow sidewalks.
