Food of Austin, Part 2
This final batch of food photos were taken over two days. Most of the eating took place outside in 100-degree heat. Was it worth it? Yes. Would I do it again? I’d prefer not to.
The mmmpanadas truck’s BBQ Chopped Beef empanada. Pair that with some Mexican Coca-Cola and it was a very good breakfast.

A pork taco from La Casa del Fuego, a taco stand on Congress. Cubed pork? Meh.

The Padre taco from the Izzoz Tacos truck. The pineapple was totally refreshing in the sweltering heat.

Iron Works BBQ’s special platter – beef brisket, sausage, and a beef rib with red beans and potato salad on the side. All the meats on the plate were great but the sausage was truly spectacular.

Lunch the next day was a burger at Longhorn Po Boys. For a half-pound burger, it was cooked remarkably well – medium on the inside, great char on the outside, and well-seasoned.
