Captain Lawrence Rosso E Marrone Release “Party”
On a cold winter day, Captain Lawrence Brewing Company released the much anticipated Rosso E Marrone. Like other in-demand beers on release day, a party broke out in the parking lot.

Hunka-Hunka Burnin’ Beer-B-Q 5, Part 3
We’ve got the grill started at Hunka Hunka but there’s still a few minutes before we can start grilling so we’re all just hanging out by the pool.

Hunka-Hunka Burnin’ Beer-B-Q 5, Part 1
Every year, a bunch of guys who went to Binghamton University together get together and throw a massive party. The first year, in 2003, was hosted by Jeremy and Justin in the Syracuse region. The following two gatherings, now hosted by Aaron and Jeremy, took place in Fahnestock State Park in Carmel. In 2007, the party moved to Applewood Estates and it was the best one yet. No longer restrained by having to grill in a public park, far away from any base of operations, we were able to take on a more ambitious offering of food. The trend continued this past summer at the fifth Hunka Hunka, our second and final bash at Applewood.
Aaron, Jeremy, and Justin work on getting the keg of Festina Peche up and running.

Futures at Fenway, Part 2
So you’re looking at this scoreboard and wondering how it can be all zeroes on the linescore and yet the score is 3-3? Pat yourself on the back if you can tell that this game – the first of two – has now gone into the twelfth inning with the score tied at three. There are gripping low scoring tied games that go into extra innings; this was not one of them. Lowell left 14 runners on base before finally scoring the winning run in the bottom of the twelfth for a 4-3 win.

Futures at Fenway, Part 1
Futures at Fenway is an annual Red Sox minor-league affiliate doubleheader at Fenway Park. For the players, it’s a chance to play on the field that the big boys play on; for most players, it’s probably the only way they got onto the major league field. It’s always a good time for the fans because it’s a chance to see a game at storied Fenway Park without paying the exorbitant prices scalpers charge for Red Sox games.

Macy’s Holiday Window Display, Part 3
At last, we come to the final two windows.
Behold the Christmas diva, Tinsel,
and her crowning glorium.
It comes not from where you think
but from the Tinselorium
Spun from things sparkling Wit,
it’s Christmas magic. Believe in it

Macy’s Holiday Window Display, Part 2
Continuing with the annual holiday window displays at Macy’s – windows three and four.
Gazing skyward, you might ponder how a snowflake comes to be.
Strange devices hover yonder, spewing crystals endlessly
from a portion of Devotion, sparked with Generosity.
Can you believe that such commotion yields such wonderosity?

Macy’s Holiday Window Display, Part 1
It’s an annual tradition – the Macy’s Holiday Window Display at their Herald Square store. This year’s theme? “Believe” – they say it’s about how the magic of Christmas is created but could it also be a statement on the bleak times we live in?

Odell Brewing Company
After our stop at New Belgium, we went down the road (really, we did) and took a tour of the Odell Brewing Company.
