Favorite Albums of 2007
2007 was another good year for music. There were the old favorites such as the New Pornographers and Spoon putting out new albums. As always, new favorites (at least for me) emerged to leave an indelible impression on me, as well as the rest of my fellow like-minded music geeks. There were plenty to choose from but, ultimately, I was able to pare down a list of my favorite albums down to 10.

On the final day of the year, I present my 2007 in easy to read numerical form.
Favorite Movies of 2007
Going to the movies this year meant the usual mix of wide-release blockbusters and smaller indie flicks. Out of the 21 movies I saw this year in the theater, I’ve narrowed them down to a list of my 10 favorite movies of 2007.
Favorite TV Shows of 2007
Coming up with a list of my favorite TV shows for a calendar year is always difficult as the majority of series’ start their season in the fall and end the following spring. Making things more difficult is the growing number of quality shows on cable. Still, I managed to come up with a list of my 10 12 favorite TV shows for 2007.
That was autumn? Really!?
Ok, it’s Thanksgiving weekend and we’re barely a few days removed from a 60+ degree day and I have to ask – was this really autumn? This past October tied the mark set in 1947 for the warmest October since they started observing weather in Central Park. Was it a sign of global warming or just nature’s gift for those who were unable to part with summer? Whatever it was, it worked out pretty well for me as it meant less time spent shivering in November than in years past.
The Wong Way posts added
Last summer, I started a music-themed photoblog titled “The Wong Way”. Over a six-month period, I went to over 70 concerts, taking well over 1,000 photos at these concerts. At one point, I was going to shows every day of the week. I was able to improve on my action photography and I had a lot of fun doing it.
I was also very tired and I got pretty sick. Nothing too serious – just the flu – but it took me forever to recover.
American Bar Crawl page
I’ve added a page, American Bar Crawl, to the site that chronicles the journey to go to all of Beer Advocate’s Top 50 Places to Have a Beer in America – complete with a Google map!
Bidding a fond farewell to the summer of ‘07
I know I say this every Labor Day weekend but I just cannot believe that the summer has already passed me by. While it wasn’t quite the whirlwind of activity that defined last summer, I still managed to keep myself busy. In place of going to an insane amount of concerts, I spent more time with friends – a fair trade by any standard.
Photoblog up and running
After a marathon of coding to modify the current template, it’s now been adapted to accommodate a true photoblog on this site. This will stay true to the generally accepted definition of a photoblog – one post, one image. The idea is to have a new photo up each day, hence, the title “Photo A Day“. That doesn’t mean I’m taking a photo each day to post but I’ll generally try to stay as current as possible.
Back in the saddle
Yes, I’m back in the blogging mood. I’ve got a backload of photos and posts to publish that should get me back into the swing of things.
