Austin Food Trucks
New Yorkers take pride in the large numbers of street vendors roaming Manhattan and the outer boroughs. What Austinites can take immense pride in is the number of trucks they have serving a large variety of foods. While walking back from Big Top along Congress Ave, I passed a large lot with a bunch of trucks sitting, waiting to open for business.
Austin’s Congress Avenue Bridge Bats
Austin’s Congress Avenue Bridge sees a lot of cars and people cross it daily but as the sun sets, a different sort comes out – lots and lots of bats. They hide out in the dark crevices under the bridge during the day but come 8pm or so the night I passed by, they all came out in waves. Quite beautiful as long as you heed the warnings not to touch any fallen bats.
